    Tamar Halpern was born in Los Angeles, California in 1979. She received a BFA from the College of Santa Fe in Santa Fe, New Mexico and a MFA from Columbia University in New York, New York.

    Halpern's recent solo and group exhibitions include "What is the meaning and enigma of visibility itself? What is the visible evidence, not just of presence, but of life?" at Rubin & Chapell in New-York, New York (2024); "Tamar Halpern & Evelyn Contreras" at Atkinson Gallery in Santa Barbara, California (2022); "Interior Scroll Or What I Did On My Vacation" curated by Softnetwork (Sara Vanderbeek And Chelsea Spengemann) at Rachel Comey Soho in New York, New York (2021); "End Of The Season" curated by Softnetwork (Sara Vanderbeek And Chelsea Spengemann) at S&S Corner Shop in East Hampton, New York (2021); and Tennis Elbow at The Journal Gallery in New York, New York (2019).
