• Biography

    Phoebe Derlee was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1987. She received her MFA from Bard College, Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts, in 2016. She received her BFA from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris, France, in 2011, and studied at Macaulay Honors College, Hunter College of the City University of New York (2013), the Center for Contemporary Art in Kitakyushu, Japan (2015), and through the Congress Bundestag program in Loebau, Germany (2007).

    Derlee's recent solo and group exhibitions include "You know and I know, I know and You Know" at Ilenia Gallery in London, United Kingdom (2026); "ALIVE" at Lohaus Sominsky Gallery in Munich, Germany (2025); "A Certain Form of Hell" at Karma Gallery in Thomaston, Maine (2025); "Echoes" at Venus Over Manhattan in New York, New York (2024); "A Season in Hell" at Fahrenheit Gallery in Madrid, Spain (2021); "What a Fuck and What the Fuck" at Soloway in New York, New York (2020); "She Models For Her" at The Shed in New York, New York (2019); "Other Hours" at 601 Artspace in New York, New York (2018); "The Point is To Exchange It" at Shanaynay in Paris, France (2018); "Finesse" at Wallach Art Gallery, Columbia University in New York, New York (2017); and "Dress the Form" at Derek Eller Gallery in New York, New York (2016).
